About Me
I serve as CEO of EMERGE, leading our transformation to develop civic leaders and strengthen college access in Houston. I joined EMERGE because I see myself in every student who walks through our doors.
I bring experience from across the education and nonprofit sector. Most recently, I served as Chief Operating Officer at Good Reason Houston, where I led strategic initiatives to elevate postsecondary success and economic mobility citywide. Previously, I worked at Silicon Valley Community Foundation and New Schools for Baton Rouge, focusing on strategic philanthropy and organizational development.
I earned my Master of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and my undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. As a first-generation college student navigating spaces where I was often the only person from my background, I understand both the obstacles our students face and the perspectives they bring to leadership roles.
Welcome to This Space
This blog is my way of keeping you connected to what I’m seeing, learning, and prioritizing as we navigate EMERGE’s next chapter. Every Friday you’ll find:
- Weekly Insights: Reflections on what I’m noticing and the context behind key decisions.
- Frameworks & Tools: Mental models and resources you can use in your own work.
- Transformation Updates: Clear communication on organizational changes and progress.
My commitment is to share openly and invite your perspectives along the way. Your expertise about our students and community will shape the strategy we’re building together.
